Long Island Skydiving Center Posted by: Long Island Skydiving Center 6 years ago

Did you know that within the United States there are more than 300 skydiving centers? While many do a great job, there are some that do it better than others. We’ve created the ultimate list of Best Places to Skydive in the USA – from east to west, north to south, and everywhere in between!

NORTHEAST

Long Island Skydiving Center – Shirley, NY

While we most certainly are biased, there is one undeniable truth about our skydiving operation – our view! To see the New York City skyline and the incredible ocean views around Long Island is something to behold. Our skydiving center is unique to all others and if you’re a prideful New Yorker, you’re going to love what our dropzone has to offer – a clean facilityprofessional staff and a view of the world’s most expensive real estate! That’s hard to top.

Skydive Ocean City – Berlin, Maryland

Similar to our own skydiving center, Skydive Ocean City offers incredible coastal views above Ocean City, Maryland. What’s also unique about Skydive OC is its owner, Jeanice Dolan. Jeanice leads one of few women-owned skydiving centers in the US – and in this male-dominated industry, has earned the respect of her peers. She has a well-trained team who pay attention to the details, and between her outstanding customer service and million-dollar-views, Skydive OC is one of the best places to go skydiving in the US.

Jumptown – Orange, Massachusetts

If you could append one adjective to Jumptown it would be “historic.” Jumptown Skydiving was the first ever commercial skydiving center in the United States! While they’ve been around a long time, you won’t be greeted by a “historic” facility at all – instead, the dropzone is a modern and beautiful place that’s most well known for its views of the fall foliage during the months of September and October. Some of the legends of skydiving started at Jumptown and they have maintained the standards set by the biggest names in the sport. Modern facilities, a great safety record and autumn views make Jumptown one of the best places to skydive in the United States.

WEST COAST

Skydive Perris – Perris, California

Tom Cruise could choose to skydive anywhere in the world, but where did he jump with James Corden? Skydive Perris.

Skydive Perris is the closest skydiving center to Los Angeles and is home to the best of the best in the sport, led by the facility’s GM, Dan BC (a legend)! Elite military teams train here, the worlds greatest skydivers jump here and it’s the go-to place for Hollywood to film skydiving scenes for blockbuster films like the Bucket ListIf all that wasn’t enough, the skydiving facility also has one of the largest aircraft fleet in the industry and an onsite indoor skydiving wind tunnel. Skydive Perris may be the Disney World of the skydiving centers – and a clear favorite as one of the best places to skydive in the US and certainly, California.

Skydive California – Tracy, California

Skydive California may be the youngest business on this list, but it has started to turn heads in a short period of time! Serving Silicon Valley and the Bay Area, Skydive California is gaining the reputation as one of the friendliest skydiving centers in the US under the leadership of its young owner, Arron Oerhle-Steele. Skydive California hosts the famous Pride Boogie and is becoming a skydiving destination for Northern California’s skydiving community.

MIDWEST

Skydive Chicago – Ottawa, Illinois

There isn’t a skydiver in the world who doesn’t know about Skydive Chicago. Not only is this dropzone one of the best places to skydive in the US, but it may also be one of the best in the world!

The Skydive Chicago campus is massive and the facilities are state of the art. Throw in a huge fleet of aircraft and you have the ability to set some of the most extraordinary world records!

Wisconsin Skydiving Center – Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin

Wisconsin Skydiving Center – The Beauty of Skydiving from Wisconsin Skydiving Center on Vimeo.

While the Midwestern skydiving centers may be lacking for amazing ocean views, many make up for it in other ways. The Wisconsin Skydiving Center has been in the conversation as one of the best skydiving centers in the US because of their legendary service. This dropzone is owned by a husband and wife team who focus on a low-volume, high service approach. While many businesses are known for customer service, WSC takes it to another level. Don’t believe us? Read their online reviews and you’ll see why this operation is a true diamond in the rough.

EAST COAST

Licensed skydivers especially like this facility as it has a monstrous landing area (more than 600 acres) and their famous skydiving event, CarolinaFest which attracts skydivers from all over the world. As of June 2018, Skydive Carolina celebrated its 32nd year of operation with the same owner (Danny Smith) who is as passionate about his business today as he was when he founded it three-plus decades ago.

Skydive Paraclete XP – Raeford, North Carolina

Similar to the Midwest, the mid-Atlantic states are a hotbed of quality skydiving – and Skydive Paraclete XP is a major contributor to that. This operation is known as a training skydiving center where the best skydivers in the world come to train with the leadership of this facility who have amassed an incredible resumé of multiple national and world championships. SOUTHWEST

Oklahoma Skydiving Center – Cushing, Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Skydiving Center is probably one of the least known skydiving centers on this list and that’s probably because its owner, Andy Beck is incredibly humble. Beck is a highly experienced skydiver and BASE jumper with a focus on delivering world-class service. The popularity of his skydiving center has grown significantly due to the rave reviews of first-time skydivers who are blown away by their experience. An added element of interest is the unique kind of airplane this dropzone flies – a Cessna Turbo 206.

Skydive Arizona – Eloy, Arizona

Skydive Arizona may well be considered the ‘Mecca’ of the skydiving world. Weather is a major obstacle for most skydiving centers – but it’s barely an issue at Skydive Arizona. The year-round near-perfect weather makes this a training ground for skydivers throughout the world.

Arizona Fun from Matthew on Vimeo.

With a massive landing area, a huge campus that includes a legendary bar and restaurant (the Bent Prop) an onsite indoor skydiving facility, hotel, a monstrous landing area (the desert) and a huge fleet of aircraft, Skydive Arizona is unabashedly one of the best skydiving centers in both the US and the world!

PACIFIC NORTHWEST
